Institute of Adult Education in Helsinki
The Institute of Adult Education in Helsinki organises Finnish courses from introductory level to advanced level. The courses are held at the Institute of Adult Education in Helsinki, located in Etu-Töölö, Runeberginkatu 22-24. You can reach the institute by trams 1, 2 and 8, as well as by buses 14, 18, 37, 39, 41, 42, 69 and 70. The courses are open to all interested in studying Finnish. The courses are held during the day, in the evening and at weekends. The courses are mainly taught in Finnish, but some courses may, if necessary, use an auxiliary language, such as English or Russian. The institute also holds examinations for the National Certificate of Language Proficiency (intermediate level) as well as practice courses for the examinations. You can flexibly register for the courses throughout the year. However, no courses are held in July. You can register online or at the institute’s office. In addition, we organise basic education for adult immigrants and labour market training aimed at integrating immigrants. You can apply for basic education on our webpage and for the integration courses through an Employment and Economic Development Office (TE-toimisto).
